Explore eight rooms packed with fascinating objects, from Rob Roy’s sporran and treasure from a shipwrecked Spanish Armada galleon, to the bagpipes played at Bannockburn in 1314. Enjoy our collection of Jacobite weapons, medals and miniatures and we even have Bonnie Prince Charlie’s embroidered silk waistcoat.
Describe the impact of your location on your business
Fort William is a busy tourist town and we are in the town centre so are well situated for getting many visitors. In fact we had 60,806 of them last year!
What would you list as your biggest achievement(s)?
Our biggest achievement was in the last 10 years turning a failing business around to one that until COVID 19 was keeping afloat. This was done by making bold decision to change to free entry which increased visitor numbers from 9000 to 60,000.
