The Reset with Sam Delaney

Eight months ago, in the mid-point of the Covid-19 lock-down, journalist, broadcaster and creative leader, Sam Delaney launched a podcast aimed at exploring issues of mental illness, addiction and recovery and, importantly, with tips and insights into 'resetting your demons'.The podcast soon grew to be a go-to for anyone wishing to confront issues in their own life, and its power comes from the personal factor - Sam Delaney is talking from experience, and as a prominent journalist and broadcaster across UK media, his experiences of mental illness and addiction in the creative industries offers a unique starting point and insight, from a non-medical and non-judgemental perspective, for anyone in the industry struggling with these issues in a very difficult time. In this session, Sam will discuss the motivation that led him to start The Reset and will set up the things he has done in his own life and work to be able to kick his own addictions and become one of the UK’s best loved podcasters. Sam Delaney has over 20 years experience as a journalist, broadcaster and creative leader. He is the former head of digital content at Comedy Central UK and former editor in chief of Heat magazine. He has hosted radio shows for the BBC, Talksport and Talk Radio where he was drivetime host until 2018. He has published three books and his writing appears regularly across the British press. He is the host and founder of a series of highly popular podcasts including Top Flight Time Machine (with Andy Dawson).
