A Chartered Banker with 20 years Corporate and Commercial banking experience Paul joined HIE in October 2019 from RBS where latterly he was Business Development Director in the Commercial team based in Inverness. Paul has held senior roles with several Scottish PLCs including Scottish Widows, Bank of Scotland and most recently RBS and brings to HIE a wealth of experience of deal structuring and execution across several sectors working with start-up to large corporates.
David Young

David is an experienced banking professional with over 16 years’ experience of working with SME’s, corporates and public bodies across the UK in a variety of sectors including: leisure & tourism, healthcare, charities & not-for-profits and the creative industries. With a real desire to share best practice and knowledge across all business areas he is enthusiastic about helping people develop their ideas and plans to deliver real value for them, their businesses and the wider society.
Murray Marshall
Loan Officer, Highlands & Islands, DSL Business Finance Ltd
Murray was appointed as the region’s Loan Officer for DSL Business Finance in December 2016 and supports the delivery of the Scottish Growth Scheme across the Highlands & Islands. This fund provides improved access to finance with very competitive terms, offering loans of up to £25k to start-up and expanding businesses. DSL are also the finance partners for the Digital Development Loan Scheme which allows businesses to apply for loans for digitalisation of their business of up to £100k at 0% over a maximum 5 year period. Murray has a vast experience in Business Finance having previously been employed by the RBS for 32 years. Murray is on hand to ensure businesses receive the best possible support with the application process and business plans, whether this be for start-up or growth.
