Creative Scotland is supporting The Space and Suzy Glass to run additional rounds of their successful digital mentoring programmes – Digital Mentoring and Peer Support for organisations and Digital Pivot 1-1 Supportfor individuals. The former programme helps cultural organisations develop practical digital skills, including content production, publication and audience development and will offer advice and support to small teams of staff develop digital capacity. The latter offers 1-1 help to artists and creative practitioners wishing to develop their creative practice.
These programmes are both offered as part of the Creative Digital Initiative, supporting digital change in Scotland's creative and cultural businesses.
Digital Skills Webinar
The Programme will begin with two taster live sessions that will run on Tuesday 11th May and again on Thursday 13th May.
These webinars will introduce the mentoring programmes and provide an opportunity for you to explore some of the digital topics that other organisations are working on.
During the event, experts will respond to questions about any digital challenges you are facing, which you can submit in advance or ask during the session. The webinar is free to attend and open to anyone, whether or not you intend to apply for the subsequent digital mentoring scheme.
Digital Mentoring and Peer Learning
We are also now inviting applications to receive digital mentoring and peer learning support. Thirty organisations and twenty individuals will be selected, and successful applicants will benefit from five support sessions over a five-month period between June 2021 and October 2021. Applicants must be based in Scotland.
We are looking to support some participants that have little or no prior digital experience as well as those who are more digitally confident. This means you don’t have to have particular digital skills for your application to be successful, but you should be planning activities that include at least some audience-facing digital elements (e.g. through your website, social media, YouTube or other digital platforms).
Mentoring sessions for organisations will be tailored to your specific needs and delivered by The Space’s digital associates, who are drawn from our network across Scotland and England. The sessions will provide team mentoring, plus opportunities for peer learning with other programme participants who are exploring similar challenges and opportunities.
Individuals will work with Suzy Glass to explore opportunities and barriers. These sessions will be designed with you to suit your needs.
The deadline for applications is 12pm midday Thursday 27th May.
