Join us for a live online session for all those wanting to perfect their pitch ahead of this year’s TweetPitch event. Literary agents Jenny Brown, Caro Clark and Robbie Guillory, will join XpoNorth Digital’s Writing and Publishing Specialist, Peter Urpeth, for an interactive workshop exploring publishing and book-buying trends, the kind of work literary agencies are seeking, and publishers are buying- and offer unbeatable advice and insight on how to approach writing the perfect short pitch for your work in 2024.

Caro Clarke is a literary agent at Portobello Literary and the Chair of the Association of Scottish literary Agents. They were named Rights Professional of the Year at the British Book Awards in 2021. In 2019, they co-founded the Nan Shepherd Prize for underrepresented nature writers.

Jenny Brown
established Jenny Brown Associates literary agency in 2002. The Edinburgh-based agency represents over 100 writers and illustrators, many of whom are Scottish-based.  She was previously Head of Literature at the Scottish Arts Council, presenter of book programmes for Scottish Television, and founder Director of the Edinburgh International Book Festival (of which she is now a Board member). She was shortlisted in 2014 and 2020 for Agent of the Year Award. She was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2021. 

Robbie Guillory is a literary agent at the Underline Literary Agency, who represents a wide variety of genre fiction specialising in crime, thrillers, science fiction and fantasy. He's been working in publishing for over a decade, firstly for the independent publisher Freight Books, and then for a host of other publishers before turning to agenting. Originally from Norfolk, he's lived the better part of two decades in Glasgow. His clients include the bestselling Neil Lancaster, British Fantasy Award shortlisted Lorraine Wilson, and fantasy debut Georgia Summers, who next year will be published across seven territories.

Peter Urpeth is XpoNorth’s specialist adviser In the writing and publishing sector. Peter has developed and delivered writing and publishing sector development projects in the Highlands and Islands for more than twenty years, and is the founder of the Tweet Pitch. Peter is a writer, journalist and musician based in the Outer Hebrides.
