XpoNorth Digital TweetPitch 2024
XpoNorth Digital TweetPitch 2024
in association with The Association of Scottish Literary Agents
Friday 26 January 2024 on X (formerly Twitter)
9am-9pm
The platform might have seen a name change, but the ninth edition of XpoNorth Digital’s TweetPitch (in association with ASLA) remains unchanged - offering a golden opportunity for Scotland’s writers to pitch their work to an extensive selection of the nation’s finest publishers and literary agencies.
Open to all genres of unpublished work - fiction and non-fiction for adults and children, TweetPitch will be waiting for your polished, pithy, and punchy pitch.
All you have to do is compose the perfect pitch for your work using up to the maximum 280 characters - but you must include the hashtag #xponorth in your pitch or our agents and publishers won’t be able to see your pitch!
To take part - you must be a writer based in Scotland.
You can pitch your unpublished work, or more than one work and you can pitch the same work more than once using different approaches in your pitch.
Our panel of agents and publishers then follow the hashtag. If they see a pitch they like and want to follow up, they contact the author directly. So, make sure your DMs are open!
XpoNorth Digital’s specialist advisor in Writing and Publishing and founder of the TweetPitch, Peter Urpeth, said:
“XpoNorth Digital’s TweetPitch is unique in the UK’s publishing calendar. Now in its ninth edition, it offers the same amazing opportunity for writers to get their work in front of Scotland’s publishing houses and literary agencies as it did in its first year.
“As we approach a decade of tweet pitching, the sheer weight of success that has come directly from the event proves its power to build dynamic publishing connections. is testimony to the event’s accessibility, its relevance- and its enduring and joyous celebration of Scotland’s writing and publishing community.
“Over the last nine years, the XpoNorth Digital TweetPitch has become the best way for writers to kick-start their new year. The event is open to writers at all stages in their development and from all of Scotland’s communities. If you’ve got the work, we’ve got the opportunity!
“Twitter may be dead, and X risen from its ashes in a cloud of controversy, but its basic functioning remains the same, and we aim to build on the positive legacy of tweet-pitch that has accrued for writers over the last nine years.
“TweetPitch is the one-day literary take-over, a positive occupation and sit-in of the platform that everyone seemingly these days loves to hate. For us, 2024 will be no different - together we’ll create a perfect, self-determined, showcase of Scotland’s writers, literary agents and publishing houses, and one that remains lined with an amazing pitching opportunity. Go for it!”
