When a young brother and sister move to the Isle of South Uist they become immersed in the crofting calendar on their township. This film is a personal portrait of this unique place, told through layers of memory and action. The film explores how the greatest challenge is not from the longest test rocket missile firing range in Europe next door but from the growing Greylag goose population. The geese threaten to destroy the corn crop which the Crofters depend on to feed their cattle. With humour, wits and determination, the Crofters battle to protect their way of life.
