I have nothing but positive thoughts about my XpoNorth Live! experience. I found it went to the right pace for me and it challenged me to get out of my comfort zone. It was an experience I would recommend to anybody with an interest in radio and media.

Rhiannon and Julia

I loved watching Richard go off on seemingly random tangents about Julia’s pirate tattoos, it helped to keep everything light-hearted whilst I was sitting stressing because I couldn’t figure out how to make the computer work. I loved working with Al as well, I was kind of worried at first when I was paired with him, but it turns out the guy’s a big softy, and he didn’t seem to get too annoyed when I had loads of really obvious questions or messed up my shows.

The course challenged me to get out of my comfort zone and it went to the right pace for me

I would say my ultimate highlight from my time was getting to interview John Cooper Clarke, a childhood hero of mine. It is something I will never forget and wouldn’t have had the skills to do without this course. That and getting to read some of my own poetry in a room full of cool people who gave me nothing but support.

Getting to interview Ded Rabbit and going to see The Mirror Trap was pretty nifty as well. I’ve made some amazing new friends who I will definetly be keeping I touch with, had some great times walking around Inverness with those guys.

Lionel and Rhiannon

Rhiannon YEAH!

Overall the experience was fantastic. Utterly nerve racking. But fantastic. It has made me feel far more confident to start perusing work in radio and I already miss my time with them.

So long and save the bees.
