EXCITE is a collaborative project managed by a partnership of organisations based in Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany and Scotland.
Following the initial application process, a total of three acts from the Highlands and Islands will be presented to partners, with successful artists securing a range of opportunities across mainland Europe and Scandinavia. All partner organisations have extensive experience delivering talent development programmes in their respective markets and are expertly placed to support young participants to make the most of each opportunity.
Partner festivals engaged with the EXCITE Network include MENT (Sl), Spring Break (PL), SPOT Festival (DK), Welcome to the Village (NL), MS Dockville (DE), Live at Heart (SE), Reeperbahn Festival (DE), Braga Music Week (PT), Lost in Music (FI), Play Festival (BE), Monkey Week (ES) Sørveiv Festival (NO), Sonic Visions (LU), Freeze Festival (NL) and XpoNorth.
At least three opportunities will be offered to Highlands and Islands besed talent.
Extra dates, market awareness sessions, networking opportunities, Writing Camps, 1-2-1 advice from industry partners and supporting media opportunities are also produced in each country.
In addition to the festival partnerships, a range of extra opportunities for those interested in working in other areas of the music or media industries are also being introduced for 2018, all designed to support young talent to explore international markets earlier in their career/ development.
The project is open to artists and individuals based in the Highlands and Islands and aged 18-25. The deadline for applications is Monday 15th January 2018.
