Event: XpoNorth Film Showcasing and Curated Partner Programme
Date: Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th June 2016

Cost: FREE - XpoNorth Festival Delegate Pass Required

We are screening more than a hundred films as part of the submitted and curated programme at XpoNorth 2016. 


Our main film showcase screening on Wednesday includes:

XpoNorth Submissions Selection

Fifteen shorts selected from our XpoNorth 2016 submissions. These works are from countries such as: Spain, France, Serbia, Russia, Romania, Belgium, The Czech Republic and around the UK.


Animation Nights New York

An Animation Nights New York curated programme of animations all the way from the Big Apple in the USA.



BFI Film Academy

Two screenings from the British Film Institute (BFI) Highland Film Academy called Absence and The Quandary, with an accompanying BFI Highland Behind The Scenes and a Q&A with the filmmakers.


Mediawave Hungary

Seven works from the Mediawave curated programme from Hungary. Mediawave is an international film festival that takes place in Győr.



BAFTA Shorts

A selection of six of this year's BAFTA Shorts.




Special Screening: HAMISH

A special screening of Hamish, an acclaimed feature length documentary, supported by MG ALBA and Creative Scotland, from Director Robbie Fraser about the life of Scottish cultural icon Hamish Henderson.

Scottish Documentary Institute

Four works from our Scottish Documentary Institute (SDI) curated programme.


Live At Heart Sweden

From Sweden, four works from our Live At Heart curated programme.



XpoNorth Submissions Selection

Eighteen shorts from our XpoNorth 2016 submissions selection. From countries such as: Australia, Iraq, Germany, Italy, Iran, Netherlands, Georgia, USA and more from around the UK.




Screen Academy Scotland

Two screenings including the UK premiere of Hula from our Screen Academy Scotland curated programme, following by a Q&A with Director Robin Haig, chaired by Richard Warden of the Scottish Mental Health Film & Arts Festival.
