XpoNorth Writing & Publishing, in association with Highland Literary Salon and Ullapool Book Festival, is very pleased to announce a unique evening of readings and discussion from both sides of the North Atlantic, featuring novelists Michael Crummey and Ian Stephen.

Michael Crummey was born in Newfoundland, and is one of Canada’s finest living novelists, poet and short story writer. His work has won many awards, including the 2010 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best Novel (Galore), and he was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award.

Ian Stephen also hails from beside the Atlantic, being a native of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. Initially a poet/mariner of great acclaim, in 2014 Ian published a novel - A Book of Death and Fish - which was described in The Guardian as ‘strange and remarkable’.

Both Michael Crummey and Ian Stephen feature in the programme of this year’s Ullapool Book Festival, which takes place from 8th-10th May 2015 in Ullapool, Scotland:
