"A hip-shaking story about liberation"

Hula is a gently humorous drama about unhappy divorcee Clara. Reluctant to engage within her Highland community, she sets up her empty-nest home as a B&B. Her first guest is an artist who introduces her to change by rearranging the bedroom feng shui style. Next, a pair of elderly tourists painfully remind Clara of the joys of love. Finally a hillwalker, as lonely as she is but not nearly so stuck, initiates an evening of unexpected hilarity which spurs her onwards to a new, ultimately more promising phase in her life.

Hula is a Screen Academy Scotland MFA Advanced Film Practice graduation film directed by West Highland born Robin Haig

Starring: Blythe Duff as Clara / Fiona Ormiston as Shauna / Nalini Chetty as Twig / Anna Hepburn as Martine / Kern Falconer as Frank / Ian Watt as Alan.

The screening is followed by a Q&A with Director Robin Haig chaired by Richard Warden, independent producer and film curator of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival.
