The SAY (Scottish Album of the Year) Award longlist was announced earlier this month; one of the most lucrative prizes in the UK music industry, the eventual winner will secure £20,000 at the official award ceremony at Paisley Town Hall on Wednesday 29th June.
Caroline Cooper of Scottish Music Industry Association (SMIA) said:
We’re delighted to be taking the SAY Award into its fifth year with another incredibly strong longlist. Now established as one of the most significant music prizes in the UK, the SAY Award highlights the exceptional breadth of music being produced in Scotland.
Among the twenty-strong longlist is Rachel Sermanni’s Tied to the Moon, which was released on Ullapool based label Middle of Nowhere Recordings.
A different album from the longlist is streaming every day at www.sayaward.com before the process is shortlisted down to ten albums.
