Cairngorms 2030 Residency 2025
Bothy Project in partnership with the Cairngorms National Park Authority are seeking two arts practitioners based within the National Park to undertake a residency with a view to developing collaborative work that responds to the Park’s 2030 climate ambitions for Net Zero.
We seek proposals that will build a greater connection to landscape and place, so communities, visitors and other audiences are inspired to get involved in community-based activity and action that tackles our climate crises.
The residency will take place from the 14 April – 24 April 2025, at a cottage within the Glen Tanar Estate, near Aboyne.
Applications are welcome from practitioners working in visual arts, craft & design, music, literature and performance, who are based in the Cairngorms National Park. Duos may have experience of working together or may use this opportunity to do so for the first time. Applications are welcome from those who work in the same discipline or different disciplines.
The residency will provide the selected duo with time and space to consider their practice and develop and/or gather information for their project. Proposals should include an appropriate way for the research or work generated by the residency to be shared with an audience before 30 June 2025.
The successful applicants will each receive nine days research time and ten nights accommodation, a fee of £864* and support with travel costs. A production budget of £1000 is available to develop and realise your collaborative proposal. Local support will be provided by the Cairngorms National Park Authority team and production and professional development support by Bothy Project.
