About the Community Engagement Officer role:
Your role will be part of a team developing and delivering inclusive and engaging access and outreach programmes, projects and resources for diverse and under-represented audiences as part of the Learning and Engagement department at National Museums Scotland.
As a Community Engagement Officer at National Museums Scotland you will:
- Plan, develop and manage the delivery of community engagement programmes, projects and external requests to and for target under-represented and community-based audiences
- Represent and raise awareness of National Museums Scotland to external organisations through community engagement programmes, consultation and sustained partnerships
- Monitor and evaluate engagement programmes and project in line with key performance indicators
- Manage budgets and resources for engagement programmes and projects
- Raise awareness of the needs of under-represented and community audiences through advocacy and communication
Skills and experience we’re looking for in our Community Engagement Officer:
- Experience working in a relevant environment, e.g. Museum/gallery or community learning/education or similar
- Experience in managing and delivering community engagement projects with internal and external partners
- Creative thinking to develop new programmes and resources
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Budgeting and resources management
