One of them is Dr Neil Urquhart, lecturer in computing at Edinburgh Napier University.

Neil has created a free and easy-to-use app, called Foodel, which will help businesses and charities plan and implement deliveries during lockdown and beyond. It helps split deliveries into rounds and can take into account delivery capacities and set maximum times for each set of deliveries. It can also be easily paired with most GPS systems. More info at:

Neil is currently writing a book on using AI to solve logistics problems and has been developing software as part of this project which has become 'Foodel'!

Foodel is built upon Open Streetmap and other freely available software libraries, so is free to use and re-distribute.

If anyone is interested in finding out more, Neil is available to do a run through over Zoom / Skype.
