Training Academy Introduction
River City sits at the heart of Scotland’s ever-growing TV production landscape and is seen as a rite of passage for anyone wanting to break into the world of television in Scotland.
Designed by BBC Studios, in partnership with Screen Scotland, River City is about to embark on a first-of-its-kind Training Academy. Our mission is to upskill and train new and creative talent to become an asset to the show and the Scottish TV Production Industry.
If you’re based in Scotland, have a passion for Continuing Drama Series, enjoy watching River City and want to work in Production then the River City Academy could be for you.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a ground-breaking training initiative that aims to futureproof the River City TV production team and contribute to the growth of the Scottish TV landscape. These roles require little experience and a passion for the discipline is preferred:
- Trainee Storyliner
- Trainee Sound Assistant

These roles will require a level of prior experience:
- Trainee Design Assistant
- Trainee DOP
- Trainee Gaffer
- Trainee Sound Recordist
- Trainee Boom Op
