Tourism: What will recovery look like?

As well as managing the current issues around coronavirus, which has hit the tourism and events industry hard, people are now turning their thoughts to when the tourism industry will restart and recover.

It’s hard to put timescales on any of it – but we hope to have a domestic market re-emerging in the autumn if we follow the patterns of other countries, which are further ahead in the crisis than us.

Watching the Italians and Spanish restarting their industry will give us valuable insights and will allow us to put some potential timescales in place. Strategies, however, will need to be adaptable and in these times, we should expect the unexpected.
