New £1m data fund to help businesses harness tech
A new £1m skills and training fund has been opened up to support businesses as they retrain people for future job roles as Scotland transitions to a data-driven economy.
The Scottish Government-backed fund will help small firms to upskill and re-skill their workforces in a range of data analytics, data science, and other data-related activities.

New Funding to Support Data Literacy for Scottish SMEs
Initially launched in Edinburgh and south-east Scotland through the City Region Deal, The Data Lab’s Data Skills for Work programme has been awarded an additional £100k of funding to roll out our Data Skills Credits across Scotland to support the SME workforce to upskill and reskill.
Funding is available for employers and for training providers. Applications to both funds will close at 5pm on Monday 8th March 2021.
