XpoNorth Submissions Rules & Regulations | Film

When you make a music submission to XpoNorth you must agree to our rules and regulations laid out below:

XPONORTH FILM SHOWCASING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

You agree that this is your own work, or you have direct permission for this film to be showcased at XpoNorth should it be selected.

If you are selected to showcase, you agree to allow XpoNorth the right to use the image you submitted and links to your online profiles to promote the screening. This information will also be used on our website and printed festival programme.

Please note, films with excessive bad language, gratuitous or sexual imagery will not be considered.

All submissions are shared with a select panel of industry professionals to establish the final list of films to be showcased. By completing this application you are granting XpoNorth permission to share the links to your film and online profiles with our selection panel to establish the final film showcasing programme.

There is no thematic or genre criteria; it is wide open to any kind of short film and open to anyone to enter.

Most importantly, we want engaging narrative and a structured piece of work with good storytelling and strong production values. Installations and conceptual films are not suitable; films from the more standard genres of broadcast such as drama, documentary, comedy and entertainment are invited to submit.

Here’s what we are looking for

Completed films up to  a maximum of 30 minutes in duration that focus on strong storytelling, high production values and engaging content.

Screening copies accepted only via a link to uploaded film on Vimeo or Youtube as detailed.

Your film does not have to be in full HD quality, just the best quality possible.

Remember to provide a direct link to your film and the correct password.

Please make sure the video is accessible to XpoNorth until Wednesday 3rd July. If you change the password of the link please inform us as soon as possible.

All of the copyright holders for the film agree to allow the festival to use up to a maximum of 20% of the material in advertising and publicity without compromising or giving away the story or plot.

Before any decisions are made please note that all submitted films are viewed by members of the XpoNorth programming team.
