Joined by NASA’s former Chief Knowledge Officer, Ed Hoffman, and XpoNorth Digital’s Screen and Media specialist, Jessica Fox, we go on a journey fuelled by cinema exploring the films that inspire our guests…and find out why stories are so important.
Ed Hoffman:
Dr. Hoffman is CEO, Knowledge Strategies, LLC. Knowledge Strategies is engaged in research, education, and consulting services in support of organization performance. His clients for presentations and workshops have included Amazon, Microsoft, Hitachi, Boeing, Citi, Salesforce, John Deere, the UK Ministry of Defense, and numerous others. Dr. Hoffman retired from NASA as a Senior Executive. He was the first NASA Chief Knowledge Officer, and founder of the NASA Project Leadership Academy. Following the Columbia Shuttle failure, he led the team that designed the Strategic Management and Governance Handbook. He received the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal in 2010. Dr. Hoffman is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Columbia University School of Professional Studies researching and teaching on the future of work. Dr. Hoffman has co-authored The Smart Mission: NASA’s Lessons for Managing Knowledge, People, and Projects (MIT Press, 2022) which received Axiom award recognition for Business Intelligence and Innovation book. His other books include Shared Voyage: Learning and Unlearning from Remarkable Projects (NASA, 2005) and Project Management Success Stories: Lessons of Project Leaders (Wiley, 2000).
Jessica Fox:
Jessica Fox is a film director, author and story consultant. She created/starred in the Youtube series “My Famous Dead Boyfriend”, directed the Dresden Dolls’ documentary series “First Last Tour” and her short “Bluebeard” featured internationally at festivals. Her memoir, “Three Things You Need to Know About Rockets” was ‘romantic memoir of the year’ (Daily Mail) and is in development with Fifth Season. Most recently, her first feature film “Stella” set in 1937 Scotland, won Best Picture at the Female Eye Film Festival, Best Drama at Tel Aviv International Film Festival and Best First Time Filmmaker in Montreal International Film Festival and is currently streaming on STV / ITVx. Off set, Jessica created The Open Book, Airbnb’s most popular destination in the world, and is a storytelling consultant for science organizations like NASA. Jessica is proud to be XpoNorth Digital’s screen and broadcast sector specialist.
