XpoNorth 2021 Conference | Spotlight on: Music

We're thrilled to be able to share with you the sessions curated as part of XpoNorth 2021's music strand.

This year’s programme brought together a range of regional, national and international perspectives from across the music industry to discuss some of the key themes impacting and shaping the sector at this important time. Our long-standing partners A&R Worldwide were joined by Red Bull Records and BMG to weigh in on the global music market and discuss what’s on the horizon. We welcomed back the Music Producers Guild (MPG) along with guests from across the sector for a frank conversation on the culture of unpaid work against the backdrop of their #KnowYourWorth campaign. We were also delighted to be joined by a genuine trailblazer, Kim Hawes, as she discussed her career as a tour manager, challenging the largely male dominated structures of the time to break new ground for females in the music industry.

A genuine trailblazer, Kim Hawes broke new ground for women in the music industry, tour managing some of the biggest bands in the world across a rollercoaster 30-year career.

Watch as she sits down with tour manager Olly Long for a gripping journey through some of rock 'n' roll’s true champions of debauchery.

The Music Producers Guild discussed their latest report on unpaid work in the industry and the launch of their #KnowYourWorth campaign.

With Katy Pickles, Mike Cave, Pete Fletcher, Erland Cooper and Chair Matt Taylor.

Join Marian Wolf (VP Global Writer Services & China, BMG) and Kenny "Tick” Salcido (SVP/Head of A&R Red Bull Records) as Monte Malone (Sr. VP A&R Worldwide) chairs this panel.

These leading globally minded executives from across the music and media landscape weighed in on the where the global market is at and what’s on the horizon.
