XpoNorth and Score Draw Music: Everything You Wanted To Know About Sync But Were Afraid To Ask
Everything you wanted to know about syncing and composing music for film, television, advertising, animation, gaming and on-line but were afraid to ask.
Mark Gordon is a composer for film and television and runs the multi-award winning sound company Score Draw Music. Their work in music for media spans co-writes in the 2018 Oscar-winning film ‘The Shape of Water’ through to writing songs for Dolly Parton to sing in the show 'Lily’s Driftwood Bay’ for Nickelodeon. More recently their work has included recording with 60 piece orchestras for BBC documentaries, and writing all music for a 40 episode animated pre-school series for China.
In this very informal and fully participatory deep dive he will be taking questions and chatting about the opportunities that exist both now during the pandemic, but also future-gazing into the landscape of sync and composing for media beyond the current lock-down. No question too simple or complex (in theory). He’ll also address some key common misunderstandings about the pathway to placing and commissioning music in media.
